About Our Classes
Krav Maga
Krav Maga classes are hands-on self defense classes intended to teach you defend yourself as quickly and efficiently as possible against real-world, modern attacks.
In every class, you’ll practice striking combatives (how to punch, kick, knee, elbow, etc) as well as a capstone self defense for the day. You’ll learn defenses against attacks such as strangulation, headlocks, bearhugs, fighting from the ground, wrist grabs and arm pulls, and many more.
Beginners are welcome in our Krav Maga Level 1 classes.
We have classes available for our upper level students, including Krav Maga Level 2, 3, and 4.
Women’s Self Defense
In Women’s Self Defense, we’ll focus on physical self defense, as well as verbal/vocal boundary setting.
Similar to a Krav Maga Level 1 class, you’ll learn how to punch, kick, knee, elbow (and more) with as much as power as possible, while keeping you safe. We’ll practice a capstone self defense in every class with a special focus on defenses against common attacks used on women.
- Physical self defense
- Verbal/vocal boundary setting and de-escalation skills
- Surroundings awareness
- Fighter mentality and fight IQ
This class is for all cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (No Gi) – Beginner
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (No Gi) teaches the basics of controlling opponents, taking opponents to the ground via takedowns and trips, escaping scary positions on the ground, and applying joint locks and other submission holds.
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (No Gi) is a beginner-friendly class and designed to be accessible to students of any experience level. If you’ve found yourself floundering in other gyms, our Jiu Jitsu class might be a good option for you.
With that said, the grappling arts like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are deep and expansive. This can be overwhelming for some. It’s not uncommon to find grappling challenging. We strongly encourage you to stick with it. The difference between someone with a small amount grappling experience and someone with no grappling experience is truly remarkable.
Kickboxing
In Kickboxing, we’ll incorporate both partner drills and pad work. It will be structured to improve your technical skills (power, punching, kicking, elbowing, and kneeing) and fight IQ. A heavy emphasis will be placed on footwork and movement.
Kickboxing is designed to be accessible to students of any experience level. While you will still get a great workout, the basis of this class is to be as technically sound as possible.
Gloves and shin guards are required for this class. Loaner gear is available. Let your instructor know if you need gear for the day.
Striking Fundamentals
In our Striking Fundamentals classes, you’ll work on strikes and combinations (punches, kicks, knees, and elbows) to improve your striking and overall fitness. You might throw 100% strikes with or without a partner, but we might also incorporate weights, circuits, footwork drills, and more. Expect to get an excellent workout, improve your striking, and get stronger.
These classes are open to all levels of experience. We recommend hand wraps and/or boxing gloves for this class, but they’re not required.
